casbox mary poppins

The soundtrack for Mary Poppins was the top selling pop album in 1966, outselling 2 Beatlle albums!  The advertising above came out of Cashbox magazine, a publication for the music industry. You can see the top 100 albums from 1966 here Some good competition that year!

Peter Pan Jingles PDF Print E-mail

I found this record in a thrift store several years ago. The label is covering the second spindle which indicates it is a "cut" recording.  This record was sent to the salesmen and stores selling Peter Pan Peanut butter. At the time this was made (late 1950s) Peter Pan Peanut butter was a sponsor of the Disneyland TV show. The jingle heard on this record were produced by Disney. The second jingle is sung by Paul Frees. Not sure about the first one.

hal leonard

Schools around the country would recieve demo recordings on vinyl of popular music that they could order sheet music for thier bands and choirs. Above is an example of sheet music they would recieve after listening an ordering enough copies for thier performances.  Some of these demo LP recordings includied Disney songs and I put several together in a loop for you to listen too.  These are usually snippets of the songs so the school directer would get a feel for the arraingments.  Hope you enjoy. Maybe you have done one of these songs in a choir or band?
